Surface: Frozen rivers and lakes, frozen tundra, snow machine trails
Description: Foot, snowshoe, ski or bike through forests and across marsh lands. Mostly flat with the first and last 10 miles being on Big Lake itself, the only major hills are the river banks, through the forests the snow machines make small repetative bumps that go on for miles. Weather tends to be -10 degrees fahrenheight during the day and as low as -40 or -50 through the night, mandatory gear includes -40 bag, bivy sack, stove, filter, head lamp, food and water for 24 hours, clothes for extreme cold conditions. Foot division carries supplies in sled tied to waist.
