NOTES: The Event Date/Time entry is for the purpose of letting you know how current the provided information is. This it not a race calendar, and while I will attempt to keep the information current, it will not always be possible. Description: The course climbs onto a bench for the first six miles. This part of the course is covered with large meadows and groves of maples in the peak of their bright red colors. The trail then ascends Maple Canyon to the high country of the range. This is covered with spruce, fir and lodgepole pine, punctuated by large basins and aspen groves, the latter being in full golden color. Much of the course follows high ridgelines that afford spectacular views, especially to the south and west. At two points the course dips into the 7000-foot range when following beautiful mountain streams along trails and primitive
roadways. Daytime temperatures range from 50-70 on the course, while overnight temperatures range from 30-50 degrees.
There are no water crossings. Aid stations are placed throughout the course, being more numerous later in the course as
runners slow their pace. Aid stations will have a full compliment of food and drink, similar to that offered in other ultras. There
are no drop-dead cutoff times at aid stations, but the time limit to officially complete the course is 35 hours.
